- FJXM Chapter 6 - A Young Lady of the Feng Family (Part 2)
Despite being a clearly beautiful little girl, Feng Jiugé insisted on presenting herself as a boy. Who knew what she was thinking?
“Alright, you’re a boy!” The Poison Master and her husband had no children of their own, so they had long since come to love Feng Jiugé as their own.
“Jiugé, today, I need to go down the mountain to buy supplies. You—”
“I’m coming too!”
“Alright!” The Poison Master knew that Feng Jiugé often wanted to go down the mountain, and this time was no exception. It was safer to have her accompany them rather than let her go alone.
On the way back.
“Beautiful Master, there’s a roadblock up ahead.” Feng Jiugé announced as she sat at the front of the carriage, swinging her legs and eyeing the figure lying on the ground, with another person standing nearby looking anxious.
Her words naturally reached the ears of the people on the road.
“Where did this rude child come from! We’re not a roadblock; we’re living people!” the anxious man exclaimed.
“Oh, you’re not a roadblock? That’s good news. Then I don’t need to clear you out of the way myself.”
“You!”
The man lying on the ground coughed and spat out a mouthful of blood. The smell of blood wafted towards Feng Jiugé, carried by the wind.
Feng Jiugé sniffed the air, her eyes lighting up instantly. She was about to rush over when the Poison Master inside the carriage quickly grabbed her, stopping her in her tracks.
“Are you two from the Tianqi royal family?” the Poison Master asked, his tone suddenly cautious.
“Who are you?” The two men became instantly alert, while the Poison Master simply smiled.
“Jiugé, I found a patient for you to treat.”
At the Medical Immortal Valley, in the front hall.
A boy of about eleven or twelve years old sat on a chair, his young age doing nothing to diminish the cold and distant aura he radiated.
“Big Brother!” Feng Jiugé, upon seeing the boy, seemed completely unaffected by the chilly demeanor he exuded. She rushed forward, throwing herself onto him without hesitation.
It was unclear whether Feng Jiugé’s sudden movement caught him off guard or if the boy was simply unwell, but he was knocked over by her weight.
A muffled groan escaped him.
“Big Brother, your health is really poor.” Feng Jiugé commented as she raised her head to look at him. Up close, she realized that this Big Brother was exceptionally handsome.
“It would be such a shame if such a pretty Big Brother were to die.”
Leng Tian’ao was stunned. The scent of milk enveloped him, and he was unaccustomed to being so close to anyone. He stared at the delicate little girl in front of him, not really hearing what she was saying.
“Big Brother, why aren’t you talking?” Feng Jiugé asked when he remained silent.
“Jiugé, get down! He’s injured, and you shouldn’t be hanging on him like that.” the Poison Master scolded. “It’s unladylike.” Although Jiugé was dressed as a boy and no one else knew her true gender, her behavior was still inappropriate! Reluctantly, Feng Jiugé climbed off Leng Tian’ao, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him like a delicious treat.
This was her first time treating a living person!
“Big Brother, let Jiugé treat you!”
“Divine Doctor!” Leng Tian’ao finally spoke, his voice tinged with helplessness as he looked to the amused woman watching them. He hadn’t expected to run into the people of the Medical Immortal Valley on the road.
Seeing her little apprentice act so boldly, the Poison Master realized she might need to reflect on her teaching methods. Had she raised her disciple to be too fearless?
“Jiugé, stop causing trouble.” she said with a sigh.
