You're so sweet (GL) - Chapter 18
Su Jingwan really bought quite a few things, and they were all things Qin Luo liked to eat.
Every time Qin Luo opened one, the little person in her heart would let out a scream. Why were they all her favorites? Su Jingwan was too good at picking!
But then she thought about it again. Wait, it seems like it’s because I’m not picky about food that I like everything, so it doesn’t have much to do with Su Jingwan.
Su Jingwan had told her to try everything. Qin Luo didn’t stand on ceremony with Su Jingwan, but after eating a few things, Qin Luo smelled the food aroma filling the car and looked at Su Jingwan next to her, hesitating to speak.
“Um…”
“What’s wrong?” Su Jingwan drove steadily, slowly slowed down and stopped, and turned to ask Qin Luo.
The traffic jam was serious on this road section. They had stopped several times, but Su Jingwan hadn’t shown any intention of taking anything to eat.
“Aren’t you hungry? Do you want to eat a little?” Qin Luo had wanted to ask earlier, but it seemed Su Jingwan didn’t have the time with the car constantly starting and stopping.
Logically, since these were things Su Jingwan bought, she shouldn’t be the only one eating. Even if the other person was busy, she couldn’t just eat alone.
“Sure,” Su Jingwan agreed readily. But just as she finished speaking, she saw the car in front start moving. She only paused for a second before continuing to drive.
There was no other choice; she couldn’t keep the car parked in the middle of the road just to eat.
Qin Luo’s hand, holding the chopsticks, froze in mid-air. Giving them to her wasn’t right, and not giving them wasn’t right either. It seemed inconvenient for the other person at this time. Should she… perhaps just feed Su Jingwan? But feeding someone seemed too intimate.
Should she just focus on herself and let Su Jingwan starve next to her? Su Jingwan already looked very thin, and she was the reason Su Jingwan hadn’t had time to eat yet.
Qin Luo debated for a while, retracted her hand, glanced outside, and then, as if making up her mind, broke the chopsticks apart. “I’ll give you a shrimp dumpling, just one. You can have a little something for now. My apartment complex is just around the corner ahead.”
Su Jingwan slightly raised her eyes, about to reply, when the phone in her pocket suddenly vibrated.
“How about it? I don’t mean anything by it, you don’t have to worry…” As Qin Luo spoke, she saw Su Jingwan take out her phone from her pocket. The call was from Qin Ziyuan.
Qin Luo caught a glimpse of the name on the screen and couldn’t help but tighten her grip on the chopsticks. She couldn’t say another word. She had almost forgotten about Qin Ziyuan, and almost forgot the relationship between Su Jingwan and Qin Ziyuan.
What a mess. She had just thought about feeding Su Jingwan. She must have lost her mind.
Su Jingwan didn’t answer Qin Ziyuan’s call. To be precise, Qin Ziyuan hung up before Su Jingwan could answer.
Scumbag. It only rang a few times before he hung up. What a jerk, Qin Luo cursed inwardly. She glanced at Su Jingwan again, but the other person showed no reaction at all, as if this small incident was insignificant to her.
“You…”
“You’ve arrived,” Su Jingwan suddenly said.
Qin Luo looked and saw that they were indeed at the entrance of her apartment complex. She had originally wanted to ask Su Jingwan why she didn’t call him back, but at this moment, Qin Luo only wanted to hurry home.
Whether the other person called him back or not was none of her business!
“I’ll just get off here. You can turn at the intersection ahead, and you can just drive the car to the company tomorrow, CEO Su.”
Qin Luo got out of the car and spoke to Su Jingwan by the car door. Just as she was about to close the car door, Su Jingwan’s phone rang again.
Su Jingwan answered the phone this time, just nodding to Qin Luo outside the car.
“…” Qin Luo was stunned. She clearly heard the scumbag Qin Ziyuan’s voice.
So Su Jingwan wasn’t that submissive either. When Qin Ziyuan called, she wouldn’t answer right away, and Qin Ziyuan had to call again.
Perhaps seeing Qin Luo standing still, Su Jingwan waved her hand at her again, a clear gesture for her to leave.
Qin Luo realized this and was half-dead with anger. This cold-hearted Su Jingwan was ignoring her now, prioritizing her lover over her friend! Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey. Who’s her friend? She didn’t want to be associated with Su Jingwan.
She rolled her eyes, clutching the bag in one hand and the scarf wrapped around her in the other, and ran home with a disgruntled look on her face.
Inside the car, Su Jingwan looked at Qin Luo’s retreating figure and slightly frowned. But before she could do anything else, she was interrupted by the voice from the other end of the phone.
“Hello, can you hear me?” Qin Ziyuan’s voice came through the phone.
Su Jingwan moved the phone slightly away from her ear. “Loud.”
“It is a bit loud. I wanted to let you know that you’ll be attending CEO Li’s birthday party with me tomorrow night.”
“Okay,” Su Jingwan heard his words clearly and responded. There was silence between them, and Su Jingwan was about to hang up when she heard the other end ask,
“By the way, did Qin Luo cause you any trouble?”
Hearing this question, Su Jingwan paused for a moment. Trouble was a matter of personal definition. She actually felt that the past few days had been much more interesting. Su Jingwan slightly curved her lips. “Why?”
“Nothing. If you find her annoying, I’ll contact her and tell her not to force it and go back to Luocheng,” Qin Ziyuan said, then added, “It was a good thing you were there that day, or it wouldn’t have been resolved so easily.”
“It wasn’t for you,” Su Jingwan said flatly.
Annoying enough to send her back to Luocheng? Su Jingwan couldn’t help but think of the person she had just parted with, and a flicker of impatience crossed her heart.
Qin Ziyuan, however, laughed on the other end of the phone, seemingly accustomed to Su Jingwan’s way of speaking. He wasn’t angry; instead, he agreed, “I know, it wasn’t for me, just for the cooperation. I understand, Miss Su.”
It wasn’t for cooperation either.
Su Jingwan couldn’t be bothered to reply. There was no point in saying more, and she didn’t want the real reason to be scrutinized. She remained silent for a while before hanging up the phone. Just as she was about to toss the phone aside, she saw a friend request notification displayed on the screen.
With just a glance, Su Jingwan recognized it as Qin Luo. The WeChat name was a simple ‘L,’ and the profile picture was a photo of Qin Luo herself.
In the photo, Qin Luo was wearing a shirt and leaning against a window, with a ray of sunlight shining on her. She was squinting, looking much like a lazy little cat.
Like a cat.
It wasn’t the first time Su Jingwan had come to this conclusion. She lightly tapped the screen, and the profile picture flashed, suddenly changing to a simple drawing of a guqin with an irritated expression.
A cat with its fur bristled.
Recalling the sight of Qin Luo running into the apartment complex, Su Jingwan smiled faintly, accepted Qin Luo’s friend request, and also changed the memo for her.
In the room, Qin Luo was satisfied as she replaced her profile picture with the simple drawing she had just created on her iPad. Then she discovered that Su Jingwan had accepted her WeChat friend request.
She quickly messaged her asking if she had gotten home. While waiting for a reply, she clicked into Su Jingwan’s Moments.
Su Jingwan’s Moments were only visible for the past six months. Qin Luo wondered if she had been blocked or if she hadn’t posted anything in the last six months. Both possibilities seemed equally likely. Qin Luo was a bit disappointed because she couldn’t see anything.
It was said that by looking at a person’s social platform, one could generally guess some of their personality. Su Jingwan truly was a boring and rigid woman.
Qin Luo returned to the main screen. Su Jingwan hadn’t replied to her, but Xu Shaotian, who had been missing all day, replied to her messages.
—Luo Luo, baby, what’s wrong? Guess who I saw at Listening!
Qin Luo rolled her eyes, feeling quite speechless. This brat is only replying to me now. If it hadn’t been for Su Jingwan, she would have cried herself unconscious in the restroom by now. Where would she find the time to listen to her gossip?
She was still feeling unwell all over. She had only focused on drawing a picture and hadn’t taken a shower yet. Qin Luo found her pajamas while typing.
Before she could finish typing, Xu Shaotian’s call came in. “Baby Luo Luo, are you okay? I didn’t mean to ignore your calls; my phone was in the car today.”
According to Xu Shaotian’s explanation, there was an event at Listening Bar today, and she went to join the excitement and look at beauties, not even realizing she had left her phone in the car.
Later, when something came up and she wanted to contact Qin Luo, she realized she didn’t have her phone with her. As soon as she got it out, she saw a bunch of missed calls from Qin Luo.
She was so anxious she almost called the police, but then she saw that Qin Luo had changed her profile picture to one she had drawn herself, and she knew the person was fine. After all, Qin Luo rarely had the leisure to draw for fun. If she was drawing now, it meant she had free time.
“Got it. When are you coming back? And who did you see just now?”
Xu Shaotian’s side was very noisy. Qin Luo didn’t directly tell her about today’s events, not knowing who was around. She was rushing to take a shower and just wanted to hang up after hearing the news.
“Your brother! That Qin Ziyuan! I saw him again. He’s here at Listening right now.” Xu Shaotian said excitedly.
“…” Damn scumbag, running off to party again. Qin Luo didn’t know what to say. This Qin Ziyuan was too annoying. She didn’t want to know anything about them.
However, hadn’t Qin Ziyuan just called Su Jingwan? Why did he run off to a bar again? Did the two of them meet up directly at a bar?
“He came alone and ordered a lot of drinks. A lot of people are staring at him, but they went up and then left. He’s not easy to pick up, though.” Xu Shaotian’s words were obviously a joke. They had both seen Qin Ziyuan getting handsy with others that day.
Listening to Xu Shaotian, Qin Luo’s mind automatically conjured up an image of Qin Ziyuan being rejected by Su Jingwan when he called her earlier, and now drowning his sorrows in a bar late at night.
Even if Su Jingwan rejected Qin Ziyuan, she probably wouldn’t be drowning her sorrows.
“Whatever, don’t worry about him,” Qin Luo said. Qin Ziyuan deserved it, there was nothing more to say. She just hoped Su Jingwan would quickly stay away from the scumbag, repent, and ideally fall into her arms. That would be a happy ending for everyone.
Although Su Jingwan was boring and rigid, for the sake of that face, Qin Luo was still willing to indulge her more, feed her more delicious food, and not hold her accountable for so many things.
Thinking about it, Qin Luo almost laughed out loud. She was already dreaming before she even fell asleep.
Seeing that Qin Luo wasn’t very interested, Xu Shaotian didn’t continue. “Then Luo Luo, you rest first. I’ll go back early tonight. Love you.”
Love your head, love! Love makes people blind.
Qin Luo hung up the phone and saw that Su Jingwan had replied to her message. Qin Luo quickly clicked to view it, and it was just the word ‘Mm.’
