You're so sweet (GL) - Chapter 2
“You’re saying that big beauty and your eldest brother are childhood sweethearts?”
Xu Shaotian rolled on the bed, tore off the so-called ex-boyfriend mask from her face and threw it away, then burst out laughing, “I’m dying of laughter, someone is still doing the ‘childhood sweethearts’ thing these days, that’s too funny.”
“Go easy, don’t break my bed.”
Qin Luo, who was barefaced, looked slightly younger. She was curled up in a rocking chair, drinking water.
The place they were in was an apartment in J-City that belonged to Qin Luo’s mother. Although Qin Luo hadn’t gone to the Qin family all these years, she would occasionally return to sweep her mother’s grave and would stay here.
This time, when the Qin family suddenly summoned her back, Xu Shaotian insisted on coming along, under the pretense of seeing the world in the big city.
“Tsk tsk tsk, if that’s the case, isn’t the big beauty your eldest brother’s woman? Your future sister-in-law, huh!” Xu Shaotian lightly patted her own face and asked her.
Qin Luo glared at her and said irritably, “How is ‘childhood sweethearts’ my eldest brother’s woman? Old Lady Qin said they are just good friends.”
“Not yet? They’ve already entered the house and met the parents; by a rough estimation, what’s the difference between that and getting a marriage license? If these two really didn’t have anything going on, they wouldn’t be so close. No, Qin Luoluo, you’re not going to try to say that there’s such a thing as pure friendship between a man and a woman, are you? Wake up, don’t let beauty blind your eyes!”
Xu Shaotian scoffed, almost adding that it’s hard to even say that about people of the same gender.
Qin Luo raised an eyebrow, noncommittal. Su Jingwan and Qin Ziyuan’s relationship was a bit close, but what did that sentence Su Jingwan said to her before she left mean?
Flirting with her for fun?
Maybe she thought wrong; perhaps Su Jingwan wasn’t flirting, but just politely replying to her?
Qin Luo had never lacked admirers since childhood; she could usually tell who had a crush on her with just a glance, but she just couldn’t see through this Su Jingwan.
To be shameless, Qin Luo had an eighty percent certainty of taking the person home that night at the bar, but somehow, she ended up failing. And yesterday at the Qin family, Qin Luo intentionally provoked Su Jingwan, but the other party wasn’t afraid of her; instead, she was very polite, like punching cotton.
Although the Su family couldn’t compare to the Qin family in J-City, they still had some capital. If Su Jingwan truly wanted to marry Qin Ziyuan, why wouldn’t she be afraid of Qin Luo revealing what happened that night?
How interesting.
“Hey, hey, hey, Qin Luoluo, I advise you not to mess around.” Xu Shaotian had been running around with Qin Luo for many years and knew her best. Seeing her like this now, she knew Qin Luo hadn’t given up.
Since meeting the big beauty in the bar that day, Qin Luo hadn’t stopped looking for her, almost to the point of putting up missing person flyers. She didn’t expect to have a destined reunion now, only for the person to turn out to be her half-brother’s woman. Xu Shaotian felt quite stifled thinking about this.
But stifled or not, that was the Qin family. Qin Ziyuan wasn’t Qin Luo’s biological brother, and if she really caused a scene, it might be difficult to clean up.
Xu Shaotian considered herself heartless and dared to do anything. But this matter concerned her friend, so she still wanted to advise her, “Seriously, Luoluo, what kind of beauties aren’t there these days? Mixed-race people are everywhere, and we can’t even play with them all. A dumpling isn’t necessarily delicious; some things are only rare when viewed from afar. If she were really that good, why wouldn’t your eldest brother have declared his claim earlier?”
Qin Luo rolled her eyes at her, “Can you stop thinking those random things? Where did those twisted theories come from?”
She naturally hadn’t planned to really do anything; it was just a shame. She finally found someone to her taste, and she actually had a connection to the Qin family.
She licked her lips. Xu Shaotian had one point wrong: Su Jingwan wasn’t just rare to look at; the person was also quite sweet. Such a sweet beauty, but she could only taste a bite, alas.
“By the way, why did the Qin family call you back this time?” Xu Shaotian suddenly asked.
“I don’t know. It won’t be anything good.” Qin Luo stretched.
Since her mother passed away, she was sent back to Luo City and never set foot in the Qin family during holidays. It was strange, though, that her cheap dad, despite sending her away, insisted on spreading the word that she was a Qin family member, arranging everything in Luo City as if afraid others wouldn’t know she was an illegitimate daughter.
Of course, Qin Luo was very open-minded about it; she spent the Qin family’s money with a clear conscience and didn’t mind living alone.
On the contrary, Xu Shaotian’s parents were very fond of her and always invited her to the Xu family for the New Year, treating her like their own daughter.
Later, her dad also died, and her cheap older brother, Qin Ziyuan, inherited the Qin family. She had wondered then if Qin Ziyuan would cut off her allowance, but then Old Lady Qin suddenly sent someone to call her back.
Offering a courtesy without cause suggests they might be trying to sell her for a good price.
“Then just take things as they come. Anyway, you have me and your godparents for everything. Let’s go out and have some fun tonight.” Xu Shaotian said happily.
Godparents referred to Xu Shaotian’s parents. They hadn’t actually adopted Qin Luo as a goddaughter, but Xu Shaotian always joked about it. Qin Luo also quite wanted to be adopted, but she was afraid that doing so would bring unnecessary trouble to the Xu family.
The Xu family was one of the best in Luo City, but they couldn’t compare to powerful families like the Qin family. They were similar to being rich but without influence; although famous in Luo City, they could never break into the J-City circle.
Xu Shaotian was her classmate, and later, because they shared the same sexual orientation and hobbies, the two became good friends and often went out to have fun together.
“Play what? You’re not familiar with this place. Can you even have fun?” Qin Luo asked.
“You don’t understand this, do you? Your Sister Tian has her own connections.” Xu Shaotian smiled sinisterly and handed her phone to Qin Luo.
Qin Luo looked down and saw a list of WeChat groups: J-City Lesbians Group, J-City Same-City Friends Group, and even several VIP groups for bars.
“When did you join these?” Qin Luo was stunned and quite shocked. The flight ticket to J-City was bought at the last minute; Qin Luo really didn’t expect Xu Shaotian to arrange this.
Truthfully, Qin Luo hadn’t even heard of those bars; she hadn’t really gone out in J-City all these years.
“Hehe, your sister bought them with money, of course. How else could I know the truly good places in J-City without infiltrating the inner circles?” Xu Shaotian gave a sweet smile, puffed out her chest, and made a charming expression, “I’ve inquired about everything, Miss Luoluo. First stop tonight – Listening.”
Qin Luo herself wasn’t very interested, but she couldn’t resist Xu Shaotian’s excitement. So, the two got up, changed clothes, and put on beautiful makeup.
“Let’s get this straight: if you fancy anyone later, take them to a hotel. Don’t come back knocking on the door first thing in the morning.” Qin Luo yawned. When she slightly lifted her eyes, the tear mole at the corner seemed to tremble, making her look even more lazy and beautiful.
Xu Shaotian insisted on drawing it on her before they left, saying it would remove some of her innocent look.
Xu Shaotian was a party animal, but she had an annoying habit: she always liked to leave after having fun, regardless of the time, and wouldn’t even stay to sleep. It was usually early morning when they left the bar, and then after a trip to the hotel, the sky would be lightly breaking, which was the most comfortable time for people to sleep. Only this superhuman could have the energy to rush home.
Thinking of the times she had been woken up by Xu Shaotian, Qin Luo wanted to roll her eyes.
“You say that as if you don’t plan to have any fun.” Xu Shaotian looked around.
The place they came to today was “Listening” bar, a famous hunting ground in J-City, and it lived up to its reputation. There were many handsome men and beautiful women; a quick glance could spot many good ones.
As the two walked into the bar, they immediately attracted many eyes. While speaking, Qin Luo had already rejected one person’s invitation.
“No interest,” Qin Luo said flatly. The thought that this was J-City instantly ruined her appetite.
Xu Shaotian shrugged helplessly, knowing that this place was a sore spot for her friend, so she didn’t try to persuade her again and went off to find her own prey.
Qin Luo was going to find a booth, but the image of Su Jingwan sitting at the bar that night suddenly came to mind, so she simply walked toward the bar counter.
She was wearing a bodycon skirt today, exposing a pair of beautiful legs to the air, inviting fantasies.
As soon as she sat down, a man walked up to her, “Beauty, alone?”
Qin Luo sneered slightly, about to wave him away, but when she looked up, she narrowed her eyes. She felt like this man looked somewhat familiar?
Unexpectedly, the man was also startled when he clearly saw Qin Luo’s face and recognized her, “Miss Qin?”
“You know me?” Qin Luo hadn’t expected to meet an acquaintance here.
“Yes, I do. I’m Wang Zhijie, Ah Xun’s friend. I even went to Luo City with Su Jingxun to find you last time.”
“Oh, it’s you.” Qin Luo’s mouth twitched. She hadn’t expected this guy to be Su Jingxun’s friend.
Last time, Su Jingxun tried to pursue her but failed. She heard he casually took someone back from the bar, and unfortunately, it turned out to be someone else’s girlfriend. He ran away to avoid being beaten. Qin Luo was grateful to finally get rid of a trouble, but she didn’t expect to hear this person’s name in J-City now.
Speaking of which, Su Jingxun was also from the Su family in J-City. Should he be related to Su Jingwan somehow? Xu Shaotian had helped her investigate Su Jingxun before, but she wasn’t interested and only half-listened, especially since she didn’t know the Su family had a Su Jingwan back then.
It didn’t matter now anyway.
“Ah Xun just returned from the States. He’ll be very happy if he knows you’ve come to J-City.”
Happy my foot; she was not happy. Qin Luo smiled, “Mr. Wang, I’m just here for a sit; I have a flight soon.”
“Ah, in such a rush? Then I have to ask Ah Xun to come quickly.” Wang Zhijie said, pulling out his phone and rushing out to make a call.
“…” Didn’t he understand what she said? Wasn’t her rejection obvious enough? Qin Luo instantly wanted to leave. If this really brought Su Jingxun over, she would be utterly annoyed.
She was thinking of finding Xu Shaotian to tell her, but when she turned around, she saw Xu Shaotian coming out of a booth with her back to her and winked at Qin Luo.
“What’s up?”
“That table I just went to had a bunch of handsome guys.” Xu Shaotian didn’t stop but walked past Qin Luo towards the restroom.
“There’s a guy; they called him Ziyuan. He just walked this way. Quick, follow him and see.”
Qin Ziyuan was here? Qin Luo slightly frowned and immediately followed, and from a distance, she indeed saw a figure who looked like her cheap older brother.
She saw the person quickly walk over and block a waiter, and after a brief disagreement, he grabbed the person’s hand and dragged him straight into the restroom.
In those few moments, Qin Luo saw everything clearly.
Nice, it really was Qin Ziyuan.
