You're so sweet (GL) - Chapter 29.1
Lisa asked Qin Luo to follow her and take notes. Qin Luo was a little puzzled. Did taking notes require two people? But then she thought, maybe the content was too much, and an extra person would be more foolproof.
As Qin Luo walked into the conference room, Lisa looked at her and slightly narrowed her eyes. “Secretary Qin didn’t go home last night?”
For a moment, Qin Luo almost thought Lisa knew something, especially since she really didn’t go home last night and had gone to Su Jingwan’s place.
But quickly, Qin Luo realized that Lisa said this because she noticed she was still wearing the same outfit as yesterday. To hide it, Qin Luo had deliberately taken a light jacket from her car.
Even so, it was normal to be noticed.
Su Jingwan was too tall. Her clothes were oversized on Qin Luo. It was fine on a normal day, but wearing them to work seemed inappropriate, so Qin Luo didn’t choose to wear Su Jingwan’s clothes.
Fortunately, Su Jingwan’s house had a dryer. When Qin Luo woke up in the morning, her clothes were already washed, dried, and placed aside.
Lisa asked unintentionally, and Qin Luo just smiled without saying anything. Lisa probably understood and didn’t press the matter.
People who work seriously are always charming. This sentence applies to everyone, especially Su Jingwan at this moment.
Qin Luo watched her girlfriend listen expressionlessly to their proposal presentations, then immediately raised some targeted questions that left several departments speechless, and then provided appropriate encouragement so they wouldn’t lose all morale.
She had to admire Su Jingwan’s ability to manage people. No wonder she could be a boss; the strategy of hitting with a stick and then offering a carrot was practically perfected.
Perhaps Qin Luo’s gaze on Su Jingwan was too blatant. Lisa thought she was distracted, nudged her on the side, and asked her to go out and get a few bottles of water.
“Oh, okay.” Qin Luo counted the number of people and went to the pantry to get water.
The IT colleague who helped her last time happened to come in to pour water. Seeing Qin Luo counting mineral water bottles, he immediately understood she was taking water to the conference room. He quickly put down his water cup and walked over to Qin Luo. “Are you getting water? This is too heavy. I’ll help you. How many bottles do you need?”
Qin Luo had just finished counting. She was happy that someone offered to help. “Just these. Thank you! You’re really a good person. You helped me so much last time.”
The colleague didn’t know whether to be depressed that he got a ‘good person’ card or happy that the beautiful secretary still remembered him.
“You’re welcome. You can always come to me if you need anything in the future. The colleagues in the company are all very easygoing,” the male colleague said, blushing. He found a box, put the mineral water bottles inside, and carried it.
“Just put it by the conference room door,” Qin Luo followed behind him.
Little did she know, Lisa saw all of this. She came out to get some documents, initially wanting to see if Qin Luo needed help, but she didn’t expect so many people to offer help.
Qin Luo opened the door for the male colleague to enter, whispered a thank you to him, and then went back to her work. She put a bottle of mineral water in front of Su Jingwan first, and then placed one for everyone in order.
When she turned around, Su Jingwan seemed to glance up at her, but when Qin Luo looked over, Su Jingwan was already staring at the projection screen again.
Sigh, it was just a misconception. Her girlfriend only had work in her eyes right now.
When the meeting ended, Lisa followed Su Jingwan back to the office. Su Jingwan suddenly said, “You can go home first today. Let Secretary Qin organize the meeting minutes.”
“Okay, CEO Su.” Lisa was confused but didn’t say much.
Although CEO Su had assigned the meeting minutes to Secretary Qin last time, due to Secretary Qin’s low efficiency, it was still handed over to her for processing later. It was one thing to call Secretary Qin in to listen on short notice today, but now she was asked to handle this matter. Was CEO Su really planning to promote Secretary Qin?
Halfway through, Lisa remembered something else and turned back. “CEO Su, Ms. Situ, the person in charge of the Will branch, called yesterday, saying she wanted to discuss a collaboration with our company. I have forwarded the specific project to your email.”
“Will branch?” Su Jingwan had some impression of the Will Group. It was an entertainment company registered abroad, with its later development focused overseas.
“Yes. I checked, and it is indeed a branch of the famous Will Group. They are planning to enter the mainland market in recent years. If we can cooperate with them, it will be a good opportunity for our company,” Lisa explained. She also added a reminder, “The person in charge of that company hopes to meet with you directly. I haven’t given a definite answer yet.”
Su Jingwan pondered for a moment, nodded to indicate she understood, and only then did Lisa leave.
Most people in the office had already left. Qin Luo slipped into the office when no one was paying attention, locked the door, and immediately rushed to Su Jingwan, who was sitting at the computer, and jumped onto her, saying,
“Girlfriend, was I a good girl today? I worked overtime with you for two hours.”
“You could be even better,” Su Jingwan didn’t even lift her eyelids, continuing to look at the computer screen.
She wore glasses when she was busy with work, which made her look exceptionally refined and beautiful.
Qin Luo glanced at the screen. The entire screen was in English, and the title seemed to have ‘China’ written on it. Qin Luo’s English proficiency didn’t support scanning ten lines at a glance, so she simply continued to lean on Su Jingwan and grumble,
“What do you mean, be even better? I’ve been very good, very good.”
Su Jingwan asked, “Was the water very heavy just now?”
“Water? What water? Oh, you mean the mineral water I carried just now? It was alright. Someone helped, so it wasn’t very heavy,” Qin Luo replied.
If she had lifted it alone, she probably would have had to make several trips. She hadn’t thought to get something to put them in at first, and her two hands couldn’t carry that many bottles.
“Very happy?” Su Jingwan asked casually.
“Not to the extent of being very happy,” Qin Luo thought for a moment and said. Carrying mineral water was work. Someone helping her made her happy, but that was all. She wouldn’t say she was very happy.
Su Jingwan replied to an email, lowered her head, and kissed Qin Luo. “Enough?”
It was a quick peck. Qin Luo hadn’t even recovered yet, and Su Jingwan had already lifted her head again and opened another email.
“Just one? Why are you acting like you’re shooing away a beggar?” Qin Luo raised an eyebrow. Although she came here to demand benefits, this was treating her too casually. She wanted to be kissed until her lips were numb and her legs were soft. A fleeting kiss like this wouldn’t be enough.
She hugged Su Jingwan’s neck. “I’m very greedy.”
Then she grabbed Su Jingwan’s left hand, which was resting by the keyboard. Her lips landed on it, and she gently bit the red mole on her wrist with her canine tooth, causing the red area on Su Jingwan’s wrist to widen.
Qin Luo really loved this red mole. Every time she saw it, an inexplicable urge to ‘damage’ it arose in her heart. Only by actually touching and biting it could she feel satisfied.
“Are you a dog? You love biting people so much. Don’t you want your teeth anymore?” Su Jingwan hugged Qin Luo into her arms, pinched her cheeks, and put her finger in to check her randomly biting canine tooth.
“I am not… Mmm, let go of me…” Qin Luo struggled for a while, then was kissed by Su Jingwan. After a while, she became obedient and could only sulk in Su Jingwan’s arms.
“I’m not a dog! My teeth are very important! How can you think of pulling them out? How would I eat without teeth?” Qin Luo was very angry. Su Jingwan was too malicious.
“Then I’ll chew it up piece by piece and feed it to you,” Su Jingwan said, rubbing the head of the person in her arms.
“That’s disgusting! You’re so mean!” Qin Luo couldn’t keep a straight face and laughed out loud. How could anyone say that? She never knew Su Jingwan would make such a joke.
“Be good. I won’t be going back so soon tonight. You go back first later,” Su Jingwan said while opening another document.
As soon as Qin Luo heard this, she immediately jumped off her, complaining slightly, “What? I’m already here, and you’re still thinking about work.”
“Didn’t I spend time with you last night, and we’ve been seeing each other all day today, haven’t we?” Su Jingwan replied.
“How can that be the same?” Qin Luo protested. If seeing each other at the company every day counted as spending time together, then wouldn’t there be no difference between dating and not dating? Since they were a couple, they should be affectionate with each other.
Therefore, the time spent at the company should be greatly deducted. This meant that the whole day today was equivalent to no date.
Su Jingwan sighed softly, turned her gaze to Qin Luo, and said, “I’ll order takeout for you. We’ll eat together, and then you go back first, okay?”
Qin Luo wasn’t really at the point of throwing a tantrum. Hearing Su Jingwan show such a weak side, her heart softened even more, and she couldn’t summon any anger.
“Fine, but why are you so busy? I don’t want you to work too hard,” Qin Luo said, lowering her eyes.
She had just glanced at Su Jingwan’s email. There were dozens of unread emails, and they weren’t just for reading. Some required Su Jingwan’s approval and opinions.
Su Jingwan was truly very busy. She didn’t want to be unreasonable. She also wanted to be an understanding girlfriend.
“I’ll try my best to make time to spend with you in the future. Now, why don’t you think about what you want to eat, okay?” Su Jingwan’s voice seemed much gentler than before. At least to Qin Luo, Su Jingwan’s tone was not as aloof as before.
“You have to remember what you said today! I’ll go see what to eat now.” Qin Luo quickly picked a few dishes from a private kitchen, then stopped disturbing Su Jingwan, and just snuggled next to her, playing on her phone.
Chen Zifei sent a message, asking if she wanted to go back to the old mansion for dinner together. Qin Luo scoffed. She immediately found an excuse to decline politely.
If Elder Mrs. Qin wanted to see her, she usually had the butler of the old mansion call her directly. It was only then that Qin Luo couldn’t find a reason to refuse and had to go.
Other times, she couldn’t be bothered. Every time she went, she had to listen to Elder Mrs. Qin’s sarcastic remarks, acting as if she were too foolish to understand.
Although she presented herself as a silly and sweet person, thinking about it, everyone had gone through nine years of compulsory education. Their comprehension ability wouldn’t be that far off.
Elder Mrs. Qin had actually called her at noon today, but it wasn’t to ask her to go to the old mansion. Instead, she asked her about the Li family’s birthday banquet yesterday. She asked if she was adapting and if she had made any new friends.
Qin Luo thought to herself, no new friends, but I did get a girlfriend. She was afraid that saying it out loud would make Elder Mrs. Qin’s bl00d pressure skyrocket.
The old lady hung up after a few words. She probably called Chen Zifei too, which was why her cousin suggested going back to the old mansion together.
Qin Luo ignored it, bypassed the issue, and continued to look for fun, skipping through messages.
Su Jingxun also sent many messages, asking her why she didn’t call him out to play. Qin Luo told him to go play in the sand by himself. She used to be too lazy to bother with him, let alone now that she had successfully pursued his eldest sister. Why would she play? Wouldn’t it be better to spend that time with her girlfriend?
The takeout arrived quickly. Qin Luo set up the takeout before going over to call Su Jingwan.
“What did you order?” Su Jingwan took off her glasses, stood up from her seat, and walked over to sit on the sofa.
“I ordered what you like,” Qin Luo said. When she ordered, she picked the few dishes she had ordered for Su Jingwan before. She remembered Su Jingwan saying they were delicious.
Qin Luo picked up a sweet and sour pork rib with her chopsticks and fed it to Su Jingwan. “How is it?”
“Very good.” Su Jingwan picked up her chopsticks. She usually didn’t eat dinner, but if she didn’t appease her, her little kitten probably wouldn’t go back easily.
When Qin Luo returned home, Xu Shaotian was actually there. She was surprised at first, but then thought there was nothing strange about it, since Xu Shaotian had just started her period and couldn’t be wild at a time like this.
Seeing Qin Luo radiant and exuding a sweet, romantic aura as she walked in, Xu Shaotian clicked her tongue a few times. “Hurry up and tell me, what’s it like to sleep with the great beauty?”
Xu Shaotian followed Qin Luo into the room. She had been bombarding Qin Luo all day, but Qin Luo was quite busy today and hadn’t replied much.
“You’re so bad. What kind of question is that?” Qin Luo said. She wasn’t going to tell her. She wanted to cherish it all by herself. Anyway, the experience was great and simply irresistible.
“Tsk, I was just asking. Look at how stingy you are. Qin Luoluo, you’ve changed. Are we not the best friends in the world anymore?” Xu Shaotian snorted.
“What? I haven’t even asked you about your date yet! And you call me stingy? You didn’t tell me either.” Qin Luo went to the cloakroom to get her pajamas.
Xu Shaotian: “That’s because you didn’t ask. If you asked, I could tell you.”
Qin Luo: “Don’t try that on me. I don’t want to know. Anyway, I’m not telling.”
“Fine, don’t tell me. But why are you back? You two just started dating. Shouldn’t you be all lovey-dovey and clingy for a while?” Xu Shaotian asked again.
Usually, when she was dating, it was like this. She would at least nestle at the other person’s place or a hotel for a week.
“It was supposed to be like that, but she’s too busy. Besides dating, most of her time is spent on work. I just finished helping her with some work. She’s still at the company. Maybe she was afraid I was too tired, so she told me to come back first,” Qin Luo said.
She actually didn’t want to leave just now, but Su Jingwan didn’t have time to pay attention to her, and she felt like she was in the way there. In the end, she just made Su Jingwan a cup of tea and left.
Anyway, they could see each other again tomorrow. Now she just hoped Su Jingwan wouldn’t be so busy tomorrow so they could have a proper date.
Xu Shaotian gasped. “She’s so unromantic! You’re dangling in front of her, and she can still work? Speaking of which, I used to suspect she might be frigid…”
Qin Luo remembered something and immediately denied it. “She is not! Don’t guess wildly.”
If Su Jingwan was considered frigid, then who wasn’t? After Qin Luo said this, she immediately received Xu Shaotian’s teasing look and realized she had let slip. She snorted and ran into the room to take a shower.
Xu Shaotian almost burst out laughing and followed her to the bathroom door. “Then are you going to the bar tomorrow? There’s another event, a huge party. It must be fun.”
“No.” Qin Luo wasn’t interested in any of that right now. She only cared if Su Jingwan would be less busy tomorrow and have time to go on a date with her.
“Hey, hey, hey, don’t answer so quickly! If Su Jingwan is busy, won’t you have nothing to do? Are you going to be a good wife and loving mother at home instead of going out to have fun?” Xu Shaotian asked, slightly surprised.
“If she’s busy, I can keep her company on the side,” Qin Luo thought for a moment and decided to bring a few more sets of clothes tomorrow and just stay at Su Jingwan’s place. But she was also afraid Su Jingwan wouldn’t want that. After all, dating was one thing, and cohabitation was another.
The idea of moving in with a suitcase like that was too proactive and might scare Su Jingwan, especially since they had only been dating for a few days.
No problem. Just keep the clothes ready in the car. They can be used anywhere.
“Not going out to have fun, just staying with Su Jingwan? Tsk, Qin Luoluo, are you still the Qin Luoluo I know? I’ll have to see how long you can keep this up,” Xu Shaotian snorted.
“Hey, wait. Tian Tian, did you look into the Su family’s matters before?” Qin Luo suddenly remembered what Chen Zifei said that day. Chen Zifei’s words implied that Su Jingwan was clinging to the Qin family with ulterior motives, which was truly irritating to hear.
The Su family and the Qin family were clearly well-matched. Su Jingwan wasn’t inferior to Qin Ziyuan, and besides, Su Jingwan didn’t care for Qin Ziyuan anyway. Su Jingwan was her person.
But after hearing it that day, she felt something was strange. She didn’t know why Chen Zifei said such a thing.
Xu Shaotian: “Why, didn’t I show you before?”
Qin Luo: “I forgot, didn’t I?” She only glanced at it before. She didn’t read it seriously. Thinking about it now, she regretted it. If she had known, she should have read it carefully so she could have retorted to Chen Zifei.
Xu Shaotian was quite speechless. “Now I understand. You weren’t just uninterested in Su Jingxun before; you completely ignored him.”
She looked into the Su family before because Su Jingxun kept bothering Qin Luo. Of course, she only looked into it for fun, just things like how many people were in the Su family and what their relationships were like.
When she showed it to Qin Luo, Qin Luo wasn’t very interested. She remembered having it on her phone, but wasn’t sure.
Qin Luo was quite attentive to Su Jingwan now, even bothering to check her family’s information. Xu Shaotian took out her phone and sent a document to Qin Luo.
“The chairman here is still Su Jingwan’s father, right?” Qin Luo roughly scanned it, feeling a little strange. Since Su Jingwan’s father was still in charge of the Su family, Chen Zifei shouldn’t have said that Su Jingwan had no say in the Su family.
The document Xu Shaotian sent showed that Su Jingwan was her father’s eldest daughter and was very favored.
“It is Su Jingwan’s father, yes. But, I heard recently that her father’s health isn’t too good, and he has divided power among the Su family’s brothers. But that’s just hearsay. I haven’t confirmed it with anyone. What’s wrong, Luoluo?” Xu Shaotian replied.
“Nothing. I’m just a little curious,” Qin Luo said thoughtfully. Power struggles within large families were common. Was her girlfriend being bullied? Qin Luo frowned.
On the other side, Su Jingwan finally finished reading the emails in her inbox, focusing on the one Lisa forwarded regarding the cooperation with the Will branch.
She roughly knew what was going on. She replied to Lisa, asking her to arrange a meeting with the person in charge of the other company. Then she closed the computer and rubbed her temples.
The tea Qin Luo poured for her had already been finished. Su Jingwan glanced at the cup and noticed a small sticky note on the side.
— Message me when you’re done working, girlfriend.
“Little girl,” Su Jingwan curled her lips.
Days passed by. The number of times Qin Luo went to Su Jingwan’s house was directly linked to Su Jingwan’s workload. Xu Shaotian initially bet that Qin Luo would soon get tired of this mode of interaction with Su Jingwan, but in the blink of an eye, over a month passed, and their clinginess hadn’t faded.
Xu Shaotian had to admit defeat, convinced that they had found true love.
“Thank you for the kind words,” Qin Luo laughed. She didn’t know if it was true love, but so far, she was very fond of Su Jingwan.
Xu Shaotian had good luck with romance, but her relationships rarely lasted more than a month, which was why she considered anything over a month to be true love.
Qin Luo initially thought it was because people like them loved to play too much, but now she thought it might be because Xu Shaotian hadn’t met the person she truly liked yet.
Like her, after having Su Jingwan, she didn’t have so much energy for other things. She only wanted to stay with Su Jingwan. Doing anything together made her very happy, and she didn’t have to worry about losing the novelty.
However, there was one thing Qin Luo was still dissatisfied with: Su Jingwan’s work was getting busier and busier lately, to the point where even kissing seemed like a waste of time.
Although she had protested, Su Jingwan only offered a few perfunctory words and didn’t actually shorten her working hours. Instead, her workload showed a tendency to increase.
Xu Shaotian saw Qin Luo’s happy appearance and didn’t say anything more. Although she always felt that Su Jingwan was too elusive, and Qin Luo might not be able to handle her well, dating was a matter between two people. If Qin Luo was happy, then she didn’t need to worry needlessly.
On this day, Qin Luo returned home angrily. Xu Shaotian was already dressed up and ready to go out. She looked up and smiled when she saw her. “Back so early? Couldn’t make a date again?”
“Yes, I’m so angry,” Qin Luo was furious. She originally wanted to ask Su Jingwan out today, but she was so angry that she forgot about it.
“Alright, then just ignore her for a while,” Xu Shaotian said carelessly, examining her newly manicured nails.
She now seriously suspected that Qin Luo was just showing off her affection in a disguised way, because every time Qin Luo complained, she would soon be all over Su Jingwan again, which was blindingly irritating.
“Yes, I think so too. I can’t let her feel too secure, or she’ll always be so perfunctory with me,” Qin Luo said glumly.
Being busy was one thing, but Qin Ziyuan, that scoundrel, occasionally asked Su Jingwan out for dinner, which involved social gatherings and networking. Qin Luo had talked to Su Jingwan about this before.
Su Jingwan said that Qin Ziyuan wasn’t ready to come out yet, and this way, he could avoid Elder Mrs. Qin arranging dates for him. Similarly, Su Jingwan was the same. She liked women and couldn’t be set up for blind dates, dating, or marriage with men. Having Qin Ziyuan as a shield could save her a lot of trouble.
Qin Luo knew in her heart that they were only cooperating, but she was still unhappy. It was just very frustrating. Of course, she wasn’t the only one who was pathetic; there was also that Fang Chu. She probably understood how he felt.
Since she hadn’t planned to let Qin Ziyuan know too much, Qin Ziyuan didn’t know she and Su Jingwan were dating yet.
Qin Luo was still pondering Elder Mrs. Qin’s thoughts. The possibility of revealing the relationship wasn’t high right now. Su Jingwan was very understanding, which touched Qin Luo.
An underground relationship is fine. As long as the girlfriend is mine.
“So, are you coming to the bar tonight?” Xu Shaotian asked on the side.
The once-a-month event. Qin Luo had already missed it several times before. She should finally attend one.
“Then let’s go. Anyway, Su Jingwan said she’s going out to have dinner with a company executive tonight,” Qin Luo sighed. The main reason, though, was that she made a mistake while organizing documents today. Su Jingwan immediately told her to clock out and go home. She might be angry now and didn’t take her to the social event.
Speaking of which, she was at fault. She was momentarily distracted today and almost caused a major blunder. Although Su Jingwan didn’t lose her temper at the time, her expression was scary enough. But even so, couldn’t she just talk to her nicely? Why send her home like that? It was so embarrassing.
“Then hurry up and change! Put on a gorgeous, glowing outfit, and let’s go clubbing,” Xu Shaotian was excited. She could finally go wild with Qin Luo again. This was the first time since Qin Luo started dating.
“But I’m so hungry. I haven’t eaten yet,” Qin Luo said again. No food, no energy to dance, and a gloomy mood.
“That’s easy. I’ll order takeout for you. Order your favorite tea restaurant’s dim sum. Go take a shower quickly. You can eat when you’re done,” Xu Shaotian said with a wave of her hand.
“Okay, Mommy Tian Tian,” Qin Luo instantly revived and rushed into the room.
This time, the event was finally not at ‘Lingting’ but at another bar, ‘Kuà ngbà o’ (Rage/Frenzy).
Qin Luo almost burst out laughing when she first heard the name. What ‘Rage’? It was too non-mainstream.
“Don’t laugh! The bar owner is actually named Kuà ngbà o,” Xu Shaotian laughed. She also laughed for a long time when she first heard about it, but after going there more often, she got used to it.
Besides the owner’s nickname being Kuà ngbà o, another reason was that there were hot guys and beautiful girls performing strip dances. Of course, this was a paid service, only available to VIPs, and the gender was random, with irregular show times.
In other words, even if you came for this, you needed to be lucky to catch it. Otherwise, even with money, you couldn’t spend it.
Xu Shaotian had only recently found out about this place. Speaking of which, it was much more fun than Lingting.
“Quite interesting? Stinky Tian, how many times have you seen it?” Qin Luo asked. Xu Shaotian was the most enthusiastic about this. Qin Luo even suspected this person wanted to go up and dance herself.
“Only twice. One time was a guy! Why would I watch a guy? I felt blinded at the time and wasted my money,” Xu Shaotian complained.
“Hahaha, that’s hilarious,” Qin Luo almost died laughing. She could probably imagine how Xu Shaotian felt. She wasn’t interested in men, so the money was wasted. Just thinking about it was frustrating.
Qin Luo was laughing. While waiting at the traffic light, she couldn’t help but take out her phone. She glanced at it and then silently put it back. Su Jingwan was such a scoundrel. She didn’t even call her or send a text message.
Could it be that Su Jingwan was waiting for her to contact her first? But she was the one who was scolded, not Su Jingwan. How could she contact Su Jingwan first? That would be too embarrassing.
Never mind. I’ll just go have fun first.
The Kuà ngbà o bar was indeed wild enough. They arrived relatively early, but people were already hyping up.
Xu Shaotian had made many new friends during this time. She led Qin Luo straight to a booth where several people were already sitting.
As soon as they saw Xu Shaotian, they greeted her. When they saw Qin Luo behind her, they were all amazed.
“Tian Tian, is this your good sister?” one person asked.
“Yes. Just call her Old Qin. Isn’t my sister pretty?” Xu Shaotian wrapped her arm around Qin Luo and spoke to the people.
“Not just pretty, she’s absolutely stunning.”
“Stunning, my foot. Don’t start fighting to please her. I’ve seen too much of that,” Xu Shaotian teased.
Qin Luo found it amusing. Who would fight over this so easily now? This kind of thing only happened when they were young and naive in school.
Qin Luo found a spot to sit down. Xu Shaotian deliberately didn’t mention that she wasn’t single, probably hoping she would have more fun here. But disappointingly, Xu Shaotian didn’t understand. She didn’t need any of this.
Compared to this, her phone lighting up would excite her more.
Qin Luo rarely came out, and Xu Shaotian was determined to make the most of it, looking like she wouldn’t stop until Qin Luo was thoroughly entertained. Qin Luo was afraid she would drink too much, so she snatched her wine glass and drank quite a bit herself. Just as she was about to go to the restroom, someone suddenly called her name.
“Luoluo, you’re too much. You came out to play by yourself and didn’t call me,” it was Su Jingxun.
“Wait for me,” Qin Luo was a little speechless. She turned and went to the restroom. When she came out, Su Jingxun was still waiting for her, looking wronged.
Su Jingxun had also come to the company to find her a few times and was almost beaten by her. Later, Su Jingwan seemed to have found out something and said a few words to Su Jingxun, after which Su Jingxun stopped going.
“Luoluo, I deliberately didn’t come to find you because I knew you were going to study with my big sister. I really didn’t expect you to come out to play by yourself and not tell me,” Su Jingxun complained.
“Don’t…” Qin Luo was about to say don’t tell his big sister, but then she thought of her silent phone and couldn’t help but feel annoyed.
After all this, how much did Su Jingwan even care about her? If she cared, she should have contacted her by now, instead of being like this, without even a single text message.
Thinking about this, Qin Luo felt agitated and walked past Su Jingxun to go back.
“Luoluo, what’s wrong? Why do you look unhappy?” Su Jingxun caught up and followed Qin Luo.
The performance had already started. Men and women were wearing masks and having fun on the dance floor. Su Jingxun pulled Qin Luo back a step, blocking her view of the performance. “Don’t look, don’t look. It’s too ugly.”
Qin Luo laughed despite herself. “Don’t tell me you didn’t come for this.”
This Su Jingxun guy was foolish, but he was also wild. Why was he pretending to be innocent in front of her? It was hilarious.
“No, don’t talk nonsense. I don’t know anything. I just came out with friends. Luoluo, where are you sitting? I’ll go to the bar and get you a glass of honey water,” Su Jingxun said.
“Why drink honey water? Everyone is drinking alcohol,” Qin Luo said. In this dimly lit place, Su Jingxun’s eyes really looked like Su Jingwan’s, which made her feel a little worried, but she couldn’t bear to shout at him.
“Luoluo, who are you talking to… Holy cow, Su Jingxun, are you here to watch the performance too?” As soon as Xu Shaotian saw Su Jingxun, she wanted to tease him. Especially since Qin Luo was now with Su Jingwan, she felt even more sorry for this simpleton, Su Jingxun.
“…No, I’m not watching the performance,” Su Jingxun explained weakly, and then said unhappily, “Why did you bring Luoluo here?”
“Who are you to call her Luoluo?” Xu Shaotian snorted, pulling Qin Luo away from Su Jingxun.
Su Jingxun usually couldn’t win an argument with Xu Shaotian. He didn’t argue with her this time. “I’ll go get Luoluo a glass of honey water first. Don’t take her wandering off.”
Qin Luo was too lazy to bother with them. She yawned and asked Xu Shaotian to take her back to the booth to sit down for a while. Just then, the performance reached its most exciting part. Someone behind them accidentally pushed them. Qin Luo’s foot slipped, and she bumped into a man on the side in front of her.
“I’m sorry, sir,” Qin Luo was furious. She turned around, and the person behind her had already run off.
“You’re welcome.” The man who was bumped looked up slightly, his gaze lingering on Qin Luo’s face for a moment. “Have we met somewhere before?”
“Pfft,” Xu Shaotian behind her almost died laughing. What a cheesy pick-up line! And there were too many people trying to pick up Qin Luo tonight.
“…I don’t think so. Sorry,” Qin Luo smiled slightly and quickly pulled Xu Shaotian away.
She wasn’t entirely sure if they had met before, because at that moment, she also felt the man looked somewhat familiar, but she wasn’t sure if they had actually met.
“You’re killing me, Luoluo. If you were straight, you would have charmed countless men,” Xu Shaotian said. Qin Luo’s appearance was truly attractive to both genders. Men and women would approach her.
“Forget it. I haven’t even completely won over one Su Jingwan,” Qin Luo sighed.
“Dating is such a hassle. Look at that little girl diagonally across the way. Isn’t she interested in you? She’s been flashing you a look a few times tonight. If you’re feeling unhappy, take her home. Why worry about not being happy?”
Xu Shaotian was a complete double-standard person. In her view, it was wrong for others to cheat on their partners, but it was perfectly okay for her and her sister to find some fun occasionally.
Of course, she was just saying it. Qin Luo listened and thanked her for her good intentions.
“Luoluo, you guys are here. I’ve been looking for a long time,” Su Jingxun came over with a glass of honey water and handed it to Qin Luo. “Drink some. It’ll sober you up.”
The alcohol wasn’t even getting to her. Qin Luo leaned back in her seat without saying anything. Xu Shaotian told Su Jingxun to be quiet, but the two of them started arguing with each other instead.
Qin Luo twitched her lips. At this moment, she was wondering where Su Jingwan was. Had her social engagement ended? And she wondered if anyone had taken advantage of her.
On the other side, Su Jingwan was indeed still at a social engagement.
“I will need your guidance in the future, Senior.” Situ Yuan extended her hand to shake hands with Su Jingwan. Her pale face instantly flushed red. Anyone unaware would think Su Jingwan had done something to her while shaking hands.
“Pleasure working with you,” Su Jingwan’s tone was still calm.
The assistant, Lisa, kept her eyes down, immediately noticing that the person in charge of the Will branch was unusually interested in her boss. Seeing that Su Jingwan had no intention of saying more, she proactively spoke highly of both companies and started chatting with the other party’s assistant.
The contract was finally signed after a month of hard work, but there would be many more occasions for collaboration in the future. It wouldn’t hurt to praise them more.
“Senior, please eat more. These are all your favorite dishes,” Situ Yuan said softly.
“Thank you. Please excuse me for a moment.” Su Jingwan walked to the restroom, took out her phone, and sent a message to Qin Luo.
— Are you home? Are you not upset?
Qin Luo didn’t reply. Su Jingwan checked the time. She should still be awake at this hour. The kitten was probably genuinely sulking, or she wouldn’t have failed to send even a single message.
It’s hard for her to hold back. I wonder if she’s secretly crying.
Su Jingwan had originally not planned to have Qin Luo join her. The first time she contacted the person in charge of the Will branch, she found out it was Situ Yuan and decided not to let Qin Luo know about it.
When she and Qin Luo ran into Situ Yuan before, Qin Luo had already shown some signs of caring. If she let her know now that the two companies would be cooperating for a while and she would frequently interact with Situ Yuan, Qin Luo would likely be even more unhappy.
Su Jingwan herself had nothing going on with Situ Yuan. Situ Yuan was merely a junior from one batch below her who had pursued her.
However, she wasn’t interested in romance at the time, and Situ Yuan wasn’t her type, so she rejected her. The last time she saw Situ Yuan, she didn’t even remember the person immediately. If this matter made the kitten unhappy, she would be the one in trouble.
So, when Qin Luo made a mistake with some documents today, she used it as an excuse to send her home. Now, it seemed she might have teased her a little too much.
