You're so sweet (GL) - Chapter 6
The phone on the desk vibrated.
Qin Luo raised her head from a pile of documents and picked up the phone.
—So you’re working as the big beauty’s secretary now???
The message was from Xu Shaotian. When she woke up today, she had called and sent WeChat messages asking Qin Luo what was going on, what work, and where she was working.
Qin Luo felt that it was inappropriate to blatantly take a private call during working hours, so she put her phone on the desk and typed out an explanation of the whole story.
Who knew that Xu Shaotian would get even more excited, bombarding her with messages as if she wanted her to write an essay on her experience.
Qin Luo did want to chat with her, but Su Jingwan had given her too much work; it was definitely more than just serving tea, pouring water, and answering calls. Moreover, there was a lot of work she hadn’t figured out how to do. She caught some colleagues next door to ask for help, and by the time she finished, it was almost noon.
It really wasn’t easy to organize these meeting minutes. It was her first time doing it, and it was quite difficult to get the hang of it.
Apart from studying to do homework before graduation, it had been a long time since Qin Luo had sat for so long. She suddenly felt sore all over and very sleepy.
Qin Luo really regretted it. What kind of terrible job was this? To do so much work for those few thousand in salary, wasn’t this labor exploitation?
She had originally thought she could at least look at the beauty and feast her eyes, but Su Jingwan was in her own office. Qin Luo hadn’t seen her come out since she sat down, and she didn’t know what she was busy with in the office.
The more she thought about it, the more annoyed she became, but Qin Luo didn’t want to leave a bad impression on Su Jingwan on the very first day, so she endured until exactly 12 o’clock to get off work.
The moment the 12 o’clock bell rang, she happily jumped up, but her foot accidentally kicked the power supply under the desk, and the computer screen went completely black.
“What’s going on?” Qin Luo was stunned and quickly asked the colleague next door for help, “Hey, can you help me check what’s going on?”
“It looks like you accidentally kicked the power cord. Check it out.”
“I don’t know how,” Qin Luo looked bewildered. With so many wires, how was she supposed to check?
“I’ll help you.” A male colleague from the other side ran over, crouched down, and checked for Qin Luo. It was indeed the power cord. He helped Qin Luo reconnect the power and restart the computer.
“Wow, you’re amazing,” Qin Luo looked at the lit-up screen and smiled at the male colleague.
The colleague’s face flushed slightly, “You’re welcome. See if anything is missing. I’ll help you recover it.”
“Hey, I was working on a table just now. Why is it gone? Where are the contents?” Qin Luo looked at the table, and the contents were the original previous version.
“If you didn’t save it just now, it’s gone,” the female colleague next to her whispered.
“This he…” Qin Luo almost swore but forcefully held it back. It was her own fault!
“Why is it so lively?” Su Jingwan’s assistant, Lisa, came in from outside. The others returned to their seats. She walked towards Qin Luo, “Lunch break has started. Qin Luo, did you order the meal?”
“Ordered the meal? What ordered the meal?” Qin Luo was again bewildered. She was planning to go out for a good meal to reward herself for her hard work, and she was a bit slow to react to Lisa’s words.
Lisa frowned slightly, “You didn’t order the meal, did you? That’s one of your tasks for today.”
Qin Luo quickly flipped open the first document and, sure enough, one of the tasks was to order lunch for all the colleagues. Damn it, she was busy organizing the meeting minutes just now and must have overlooked it.
“I’m sorry, I’ll order it now,” Qin Luo said.
Since it was her mistake, she naturally wouldn’t make excuses. Qin Luo quickly made a phone call to order food.
Lisa hummed, probably because she knew Qin Luo was brought in by Su Jingwan. Although displeased, she didn’t say anything nasty, “Hurry up. Order from a place nearby. Ms. Su’s portion is also needed.”
Despite her words, she was already somewhat dissatisfied. After all, the lunch break was limited, and everyone had been hungry all morning. Now, the meal hadn’t even been ordered. The others all glanced at Qin Luo and whispered amongst themselves.
Qin Luo, however, didn’t care. She wasn’t here to work seriously and didn’t care what the people here thought of her. As for Su Jingwan… was she really not planning to invite her out to lunch?
She was, after all, Qin Ziyuan’s sister in name. She was truly cold. Was she not planning to gain her favor? It was annoying.
Qin Luo ordered the meal in a huff, then grabbed her bag and walked out of the company.
